For the first time in six seasons, Lifetime Television’s Project Runway will welcome a designer “with a passion for real women in the plus size market".
Qristyl (pronounced Crystal) Frasier, a St. Louis-native who owns and operates Brooklyn-based Qristyl Frazier Designs, has worked her craft for 15 years, according to her site and caters to what she refers to as “Plus Sexy". The curvy cutie landed one of 16 spots on the award-winning fashion reality hit series hoping to be the last designer standing as a way to help catapult her fashion house to the next level.
The fashion community seems excited about the possibility of plus-size models and clothing that real women can wear.
“I think people are waiting for the next large-size designer,” said Laura Bennett, a former Runway contestant and a member of the show’s casting call panel.
Project Runway premiers Thursday, August 20 at 10 PM EST.
